Bloeistraat 11 - SCORE

Inseparable best friends spend their last summer holiday of childhood amusing themselves around the house. As summer progresses their bodies start to morph and shift and an awkwardness descends on their friendship. Puberty seems determined to interrupt their bond.

This beautiful animation short by Nienke Deutsch was a lovely collaboration. I had the opportunity to write a small, minimal score, helping to shape this small but beautiful coming of age story.

Winning Annecy animation film festival was a great start for Bloeistraat, and other nominations and wins followed. I was best with a 'best original score win at Monstra Portugal.

Fun fact;

in this short I got to work with great freand and master guitar player Stijn Norga, the lovely 'grandmother of Belgian foley' Marie-Jeanne Wyckmans, my wife Eva Schram and my children Max and Umi doing the voices.
